Description
Cozy house composed of a living room with kitchenette, bathroom with shower, a double bedroom (160X190 cm bed) and a private terrace furnished with everything needed for being outdoors (table, chairs, umbrella, sun loungers) and accessible via a staircase from inside the apartment.
Going back to the beginning of the 20th century. it has a corridor unfortunately not suitable for the disabled.
You will stay in the heart of one of the most characteristic and peaceful historic districts of Cagliari, Villanova born in the XIII century, but at the same time you will be a few steps from the centre, from the places of culture and city life, on the edge of a pedestrian area made up of suggestive streets, squares, monuments but also excellent clubs and restaurants.
On the street where the accommodation is located is not easy to find parking space but a few minutes’ walk away you’ll find paid car park on the street and in a multi storey garage. Furthermore very close there are bus stops, grocery stores, shops, the opera house and the port, the train station (connected to the airport) and suburban buses at 1800 m.
From the airport you can reach the city by train in 5 minutes at a cost of €1.30. From the station you can take a walk of about 15 minutes (1500 m) or take a bus which stops a few meters from the house (line no. 7) and which makes a circular route through all the historic districts. On foot it is possible to reach and visit the entire city center (Stampace and Marina districts) and the upper city (medieval Castello district), where there are shops, restaurants, public parks, museums.
The district:
Villanova (Biddanoa in Sardinian) was born in the XIII century. when the inhabitants of the Campidano countryside settled on the edge of the ancient city for commercial reasons. The district continued to develop until the 1930s, which is why among its streets you can find ancient monuments (such as the 5th century Basilica of S. Saturnino) and neo-classical buildings (the former powder magazine at the Public Gardens ), neo-Gothic (the former municipal slaughterhouse), liberty (Palazzo Valdes), rationalist (war memorial and Carabinieri legion). Nearby the Municipal Art Gallery (which preserves the famous “mother of the Killed” by Francesco Ciusa) and the archaeological museum where you can admire the Giants of Monte Prama. The neighborhood does not disappoint even lovers of cuisine and nightlife as it is full of restaurants and clubs of various kinds. There is no shortage of services such as grocery stores, laundries, shops, etc.
Today it is a lived-in but peaceful district, partly pedestrian area and partly restricted traffic area, ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the daily life of the city.

Mario takes great care of this apartment. He is helpful, quick to respond, friendly and kind. The neighborhood is just far enough from the core to make it more peaceful; the terrace helps! If mobility is an issue, the terrace requires stairs; everything else is single level. I had a great stay!
